How to get a job when youre busy - Have you ever tried to make a big change or plan something new but couldnt decide how to get started? For example, painting your house? Changing your wardrobe or hair? Embarking on a new degree or certificate program? Even planning a vacation? Youre busy (arent we all?) And, lets face it, were not all experts at EVERYTHING! You know you want to move forward, but you feel a little stuck, so you procrastinate. Having a plan, or a guide, can make all the difference. (When you are stressed, it is even worse, be sure to read Hannah Morgan (@CareerSherpa)s post about five tips to de-stress your job search For example, when I was planning to paint inside and outside my home, I *could* have painted (the inside) myself, but it would have taken me a lot longer and the results would not have been as good as they were when I hired a professional. (You should have seen my painters painting trim â€" they didn’t even use tape!) Before I even could think about hiring painters, though, I had another obstacle: picking colors! For the interior decorators among you, this may be hard to believe, but choosing colors for several key rooms in the house seemed like an overwhelming problem. What if it looked bad? What needed to match? Or not match? I had no interest in making a mistake in my home. What did I finally do? I hired an expert. Laura came in with her paint swatches, asked me what I liked and proceeded to explain what she would recommend. She has seen the colors she recommended to me in many, many homes. On the walls!
